The Photography Industry and the Role of Digital Marketing 2021 @ ICAT, Chennai
A workshop on "The Photography Industry and the Role of Digital Marketing" was held by the Department of Photography. From 11th to 13th of October’21, our two distinguished speakers, Vinay Kumar and Sathish S shared their expertise and wealth of information about the current photographic industry and how to flourish using digital marketing techniques.
Vinay Kumar is our ICAT Alumni and the Founder and CEO of Vinq Productions who specializes in Photography, Event Management, Youtube, TVC, and Feature Film VFX. He has 5 years of experience in the Media and Cinema Industry. With a diverse clientele that includes Insapix Animations, Maya Studios, Centrix Media, and others, we specialize in 2D and 3D animation, content marketing, and video production. Sathish S, Director - Digital Marketing at Vinq Productions has 8 years of marketing expertise and specializes in content production, SEO strategy, blogging, and social media, has worked with a wide range of companies including Pothys, Vasanth and Co, Indian Bank, Vijay TV, Zee Studios, and others.
During these three days, our distinguished visitors created a new world for our students, sharing vast knowledge on how to survive in an ever-changing business. Vinay brought an enormous amount of enthusiasm into the room from day one, when he discussed his experience from his days at ICAT, as well as the significance of creating contacts and building a portfolio. With such energy, Sathish began the fundamentals of digital marketing, providing a glimpse into a world of possibilities. On day 2, Vinay and Sathish talked with students and led them through an activity to develop their brand, during which our students came up with some of the most innovative concepts. When the entire environment was filled with creative conversation, time flew by. On day 3, Vinay continued to share their business experience and offered their wealth of information on how to develop their CV, professionalism, and a strong network. By the end of the session, our students had begun to see the business from a different perspective and had left the session with a great deal of confidence in their ability to thrive in the industry.
