The M.Sc. Multimedia program at ICAT is a 2 -year, full-time program that enables you to gain expertise knowledge in various facets of the Multimedia industry, including Graphic Designing, Web Designing, Animations, Visual Effect, UI Designing, and Game Designing.

The program is a perfect blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skill building in various techniques, such as digital photography, 2D graphics, 2D / 3D animation, advanced art, compositing, modelling, texturing, rigging, developing TV commercials / print ads, game designing, cinematography, and so on. Year - I Year - II
Semester - I

  • The Introduction to Communication is a module that exposes students to a range of media, their mass impact on the society, psychology and sociology of the audience, and the cultural developments within media.

  • The students are provided with strong visual communication skills in this module by developing their artistic skills and enriching their design sense

  • This module further enriches the visual communication skills by empowering students to communicate ideas and information through symbols, images, illustrations and typography, as applied to print and screen

  • Every animation or film requires a significant contribution in ideation of the story, scripting and storyboarding, which are discussed in detail in this module

  • Image Editing Techniques is a practical module that makes the students develop a strong understanding of the purpose of editing an image before using it in a graphic design. Students will learn to work with basic

Semester - II

  • Students here are introduced to the fundamentals of drawing that would be the first step in designing different character styles like cartoon, semi-realistic and realistic

  • This module introduces students to 3D designing techniques by using related software, and the methods and ideas to create a 3D polygonal model of varying complexity.

  • This module teaches students the basics of keyframe animation. Learning how to use important elements of animation like shapes, text, colours and layers helps students to understand and work on motion graphic content by using industry-standard motion graphics software application

  • This module provides an understanding of the use of lights, cameras and grip equipment; the rules of composition and shot continuity; and the principles of storytelling, editing techniques and film language

Semester - III

  • The Modelling and Texturing module will help students to understand character modeling and texturing. It trains the students on creating advanced 3D models for a variety of applications

  • This module introduces students to basic principles of video editing, how to capture a video, import files, organize media elements and interface workflow, perform basic edits in the Timeline, and how to add a simple graphics in the timeline.

  • This module provides students the technical skills to effectively set up and alter rig for model to create animations. They understand the importance of rigging in animation and will learn to prepare a model for animation by creating an internal skeletal structure and applying that to a 3D mesh.

  • This module helps students to understand the interface and workflow of a node-based application. It teaches students to perform basic compositing and understand camera tracking techniques.

Semester - IV

  • This module helps students to understand the research process in conducting multimedia specialization projects

  • This module helps students to understand the advance compositing techniques. It teaches the techniques of match moving, 3D solving, keying and background removing.

  • This practical module helps students to develop an understanding towards 3D lights and their properties. They will learn the types of 3D lighting used for different scenes.

  • Dynamic simulation is a practical module that helps students to learn the basic concepts of creating dynamics. It provides an understanding of particles, particles’ attributes and rendering particles.

  • The Project work module helps students in developing a final project based on their specialization. The students here take up a major project from scratch to the final design and presentation. They execute the major project by analyzing the concept chosen, performing research and implementing their design thinking skills.

  • This module helps students understand live projects and production techniques by attending internship in an organization. The students gain knowledge on the production process and project pipeline.
