Webinar of International Web Conference on "Will designers become activists?" 2021 @ ICAT, Bangalore

Graphic Design department Of ICAT Design and Media College, Bangalore, organized an International Web Conference on “Future of Design” on 11th & 12th November 2021. It was a 2-day Web Conference which focused on how the concept of Visual Design will evolve in the near future. The resource person for session 2 of 12th Nov 2021 was Ms. Simran Bansal. The topic of the session was “Will designers become activists?”.

Ms. Simran Bansal is an Architect and an urban designer from Germany. Her session began explaining how design and activism can work together in a modern society. She also discussed how the history of design and production went through the evolutions and the activist movements which are interlinked with each other. She beautifully explained how responsible designing can create a healthy competitive environment towards sustainability where the purpose of modernization stays constant but it doesn’t harm either the environment or the creative individuality of a designer. Later as a token of gratitude from the Department of Graphic Design, ICAT Design and Media College a portrait of the resource person was made by Mr. Anup as a token of appreciation.
