Webinar of International Web Conference on "Activism through Fashion" 2021 @ ICAT, Bangalore

Graphic Design department Of ICAT Design and Media College, Bangalore, organized an International Web Conference on “Future of Design” on 11th & 12th November 2021. It was a 2-day Web Conference which focused on how the concept of Visual Design will evolve in the near future. The resource person for session 1 of 12th Nov 2021 was Dr. Jaya Iyer. The topic of the session was “Activism through Fashion”.

Dr. Jaya Iyer is the CEO of Svaha USA. She’s a fashion designer and successful entrepreneur. Her enterprise, SVAHA, was inspired by her daughter. Her session was completely rooted in the idea of activism and breaking barriers through fashion. She introduced her clothing line for children which are gender neutral and for women which had smashed the norms of women clothing industry and gender roles. She also discussed the importance of supporting Indian traditional artisans and laborers when you are an entrepreneur. The session was very much interactive and valuable feedback was received. Later as a token of gratitude from the Department of Graphic Design, ICAT Design and Media College a portrait of the resource person was made by Mr. Anup as a token of appreciation.
