Webinar on How to be a Successful Designer 2020 @ ICAT, Bangalore

Department of Graphic Design, ICAT Design and Media College Bangalore organized a Webinar on “How to be a Successful Designer” on 4th May 2020. The resource person was Mr. Hitesh Vasnani, from Jakarta, Indonesia, who had completed his studies from ICAT Design and Media College, Bangalore in the year 2013. He is currently working as a Brand and Communication Manager for Alliance for Financial Inclusion, Malaysia. He discussed the role of graphic design in terms of adapting to corporate cultural management. He made a presentation of his freelance design studio named Lumos Ideas. The most captive thing about his talk was on how to balance a corporate job as a graphic designer and how to seek employment for your dream job. His other insight was on how to present an assignment/ portfolio for employment. The students and participants were rather impressed by both the presenters as the entire dialogue served as an enlightenment for several students who are pursuing a career in graphic design. The objective of both the Webinars was aimed at sensitizing the students on the approaches and the direction the creative industry is progressing towards. This exposure will enable students to learn new dimensions of the design industry and their competency as professionals will go to a new level.
