Webinar on Animation Day 2021 @ ICAT, Bangalore

Animation day is celebrated on 8th January globally. The Animation Department of ICAT Design and Media College, Bangalore celebrated Animation Day. The session began with an overview of animation.The aim of the event was to yield students the right  knowledge of the various 3D art and animation pipelines from Film and game backgrounds.

The event started with the speech by the Vice Principal Mrs.Hemalatha Doddamani enlightening the students about animation and how it amuse the modern world. She shared her insights about animation as a modern art where the objects and figures interact. Animation is ubiquitous. It is a medium to display the illusions. The International Animated  Films Association created the International Animation Day in 2002, honouring and helping to promote international animation day, Celebrating all over the world putting the art of animation in lime light in the global world. It nearly touched the 100 thousand billion dollar industry. Animation provides enormous scope for the animators in the modern world with growing technologies. It elicits the boisterous side of one’s personality. To create animation one has to have a great sense of humour. Messages are incomplete without animation. Not only kids, most of us in this modern era love to watch animation movies and series. The art of imagination is creating the art of illusion of life. Animation is more than reality. It is a mighty medium to sprinkle life to the figures and objects.Her speech was very alluring to the students.

There were 3 Guest Lectures appeared for the event online. More than 100 students attended the event from different Universities and Colleges, majority of them were from Jain University and Christ University. There were a lot of fun games for the students, the showreel of the works of design students were shown and many presentations were given illuminating the students with the animation world. A walk through all the works came during the competitions that were made from different colleges and the winners were awarded also. The Junior students who took responsibility for the event and made it successful.

The First Year students delivered speeches about The Evolution of Animation in Industry and they also took responsibility as anchors for the whole event. The Third Year students presented about The Animation Industry and they encouraged the juniors' about their hard work. Along with the Guest Lectures, there were various Puzzle games that were performed by the students and everyone participated actively. The last thanksgiving speech was given by Mr Anand Rathod, Coordinator Animation Department, motivating and encouraging students for their role in animation day and participation.The event was a successful one.
