Visit to Radio Active CR 90.4MHz 2020 from ICAT, Bangalore

ICAT Design and Media College, Bangalore organized visit to Radio Active CR 90.4MHz forII Year VMD Students. Radio Active is Bangalore's first ever Community Radio which focuses on the life of Transgender and Sex workers. The students were lucky enough to meet the first Transgender RJ Priyanka who primarily hosts the Agricultural program.

Students had an interactive session with the Head of Radio Active station Ms. Beula Anthony who very elegantly explained about the Purpose of running this community Radio and about their daily shows. Her views on the struggle of transgender getting respect and love in our society were impeccable.

The Students expanded their learning horizon from the engrossing sessions on recording, sound mixing and technicalities used behind sending the program on AIR. Our students also learned the format of radio script.

Worth full to mention that apart from hosting the Agriculture shows, RJ Priyanka also produces shows on the life of sex workers along with programs on saving the environment. Listening to her life struggle and work alignment along with all the hardships she has faced was equally eye-drenching for all of us. 

The biggest gain for the students however, was to have got some internship opportunities thereby contributing to the world of Community Radio.
