Visit to Indian Photography Festival 2018 from ICAT, Hyderabad

The Photography Department of ICAT Design & Media College, Hyderabad organized a trip for its aspiring students from 18th to 21st of September, 2018. The trip included a visit to the most popular ‘Indian Photography Festival’ at State Gallery of Art, Hyderabad.

The Indian Photography Festival (IPF), a Not-For-Profit initiative of Light Craft Foundation is an international photography festival showcasing a wide range of photographs from India and around the globe with a series of events. The IPF creates a platform for the professional and aspiring photographers, photography lovers and public where the festival promotes the art of photography and at the same time address the social issues through the medium of photography.

The trip was organized with the intent to give students the experience of world photography and to see great works of esteemed photographers like Nick UT, Anush Babajanyan, Mark Edward Harris, etc. The festival also included talk sessions, portfolio reviews, book launches, screenings, workshops etc.

It's been a great experience for the student's to learn the diverse photographic genres. Students understood the working style of great photographers, and installation and presentation skills which created fun and transcendent learning experience about world photography.
