Under Graduation Showcase 2011 of ICAT Design & Media College, Chennai

29th June 2011 Wednesday was a momentous occasion for the 2008 Undergraduate students of ICAT. They become the 3rd Batch of students for the college to graduate. The occasion was graced by Mr. Vijay; a renowned Director in Indian cinema was the Guest of Honor. Director Vijays Tamil film Madrasapattinam should be lauded. He had the courage of conviction to set a film in the Madras of the 1940s under British rule and work out a love story between a Dhobi and an English Memsaab against the backdrop of an important chapter from history.

Other people who were present in the event were Professor Sion Hughes who is a moderator and. External examiners Ms.Christine White, Mr.Huw Daves, Mr. Kumar - Founder & Managing Director of IMAGE Group.

Addressing the student Mr. Vijay said that most of the works which is presented here are very professional and meeting industry standards.

Mr. Kumar - Founder & Managing Director of IMAGE Group, in his felicitation address during the convocation stated that ICAT is the only digital media college in India with 90 students graduating this year in the specific fields like Animation, Visual effects, game design and game development.

A scholarship was then announced by late student Mayanks father. The scholarship is named as Mayanks Scholarship Award, under which twenty five thousand rupees will be awarded to worthy students every year.
