Seminar on Creating Digital & Print Page Layout In Indesign 2023 @ ICAT, Chennai

On January 20, 2023, the Department of Multimedia organized a seminar on "Creating Digital & Print page Layout in Indesign". Mr. Gopal Vijaykumar, a visual designer at RR Donnelley, was invited as a speaker for the session. The seminar was attended by students from the multimedia and graphic design department's UG and PG batches. The session began with the speaker detailing seven fundamental principles—balance, contrast, emphasis, hierarchy, proximity, rhythm, color, and space—that are used in every design layout and how to apply them to creative design work. He then emphasized a few other topics, such as how understanding the publication's message and target audience will help design objectives become more clear, the ways of collecting resources from various sources, how to bring attention to images, and how to use them effectively to improve publications. He showed to the students several actual customer projects and discussed how the designer will manage unformatted text in completed InDesign layouts to turn that into outstanding design.

The major goal of this session is to instruct the students how to use the InDesign software to design fantastic design creatives.
