Mr. Tharun Adurugatla, an Alumni of ICAT won the Special Mentions Award at the 8th National Photography Awards held at New Delhi on March 7, 2023 with a cash prize of Rs. 30,000. The theme for the amateur photography was “Cultural Heritage of India”. Mr. Tharun completed his B.Sc Photography from ICAT Design & Media College in the year 2020. Incidentally, the award winning photos were shot as part of his degree project at ICAT.
Honourable Union Minister of State Dr. L. Murugan conferred the 8th National Photography Awards to the winners. Speaking on the occasion, at the very onset, Dr Murugan congratulated all the award winners and acknowledged that the winners come from diverse professional backgrounds but what binds them is their passion for photography. These awards recognize the extraordinary talent and outstanding capabilities of these photographers, he added.
