Photowalk at Sowcarpet (Holi) 2022 from ICAT, Chennai

Photowalk at Sowcarpet Holi on March 18, 2022.

On March 18th, 2022, the Department of Photography, ICAT Design and Media College, Chennai, organised a Photowalk for the students to Sowcarpet, one of the oldest parts of the Chennai city. It was the occasion of Holi and the students reached the spot early in the morning to cover the moments of this auspicious day.

For most of the students it was their first experience to photograph Holi amidst the colors and water splashes. They had covered their cameras safely with plastic covers before reaching the location to avoid risk of the dust and moisture entering their cameras. The celebration continued for hours and the crowd kept coming to sowcarpet. The students were very happy to be a part of the famous Sowcarpet Holi celebrations and moreover they were happy because they have captured the precious moments with their camera to cherish it for a lifetime. Shooting in challenging situations like these motivates and gives confidence to our students to take more risks in life.
