Open House - Annual Exhibition of Fashion Design Department @ ICAT, Bangalore

The Department of Fashion Design organized an annual Exhibition of II, IV and VI semester student work that took place in the college premises on 22nd October 2021 in the presence of teaching staff of all departments. The event was organised and conducted successfully.

The display was open from 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM for visitors. From the Fashion Design department 3rd year students participated in the open house. The students displayed their Craft documentation, Portfolio Collection garments, along with Apparel Computer Aided Design digital work and Fashion Art Design project records.

The attention gathering event was the collection of student - Kavin R, where he had converted used denim trousers to women’s dresses. Everyone was mesmerized by the designs of craft documentation, where students used Indian art forms in embellishment of garments for Craft Documentation.

All the visitors were happy and curious to know the backstory of each garment. The event unwrapped the importance of Indian art, Sustainability and handloom fabric to the visitor and their interaction motivated the students. It also made students rethink and reform their design aspects to develop better products in the future.
