Model Making Contest 'Ganesh Chaturthi' 2019 @ ICAT, Chennai

As we all know, Ganesh Chaturthi also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi is a festival that celebrates the birthday of Lord Ganesha. Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed is the symbol of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune.

In order to make the Vinayaka Chaturthi 2019, a memorable day, we ICATians, hosted a competition in the name "Creative Ganesha" on 30th August in Chennai.

Our students from various departments have teamed-up and created artefact depicting Lord Ganesha. We had more than 30 teams and each team created Ganesha model using different props & elements like sticks, clay, mud, wire, papers, leaves, etc.

Highlight of the day was Ganesha made with scrap materials.

Few Ganeshas like "Human Ganesha, AR Ganesha (Augmented Reality) and Single Ganesha" really made our eyebrows raise...

Followed by, we grandly celebrated Ganesha Pooja with yummy "Sundal & Kolkattai"!!!
