Live Study of Animals at Bannerghatta National Park 2018 from ICAT, Bangalore
On 19th of September, 2018, the first year students of Game Art and Design along with the faculties Mr. Tapan and Mr. Sarath went on a guided tour to Bannerghatta National Park, Bengaluru. The tour was organized for the students to have a live study of animals and the environment as a part of their Visualisation and Model Making Lab module.
The students were asked to create live sketches of several animals at the zoo to get an idea of animal anatomy and movements in their natural habitat. For many of the students, it was their first time witnessing wild animals and how they interact with their surroundings. Doing a live study is crucial to the experience of learning and improving observational skills. Students learned how to draw muscle shapes for animals in different poses, the expressions of the animals as well as how quadrupedal and bipedal animals move in their surroundings. After the live study that was conducted until post lunch, the students returned to college.
