Kalpavriksha 2015 @ ICAT, Chennai

Women are the truest embodiment of strength... of courage... of care. Women are a bundle of unbounded energy. At IMAGE Infotainment, the work atmosphere is feministic. Women and Men are given equal opportunities to lead, to contribute and to drive the organisation from strength to strength.

The women folk of IMAGE Creative Education and ICAT College of Design and Media came together on the 6th of March (Friday), 2015, to celebrate ‘girl power’. Kalpavriksha 2015 began with the lighting of lamp by the chief guest, Mrs. S. Lakshmi – DCP, Traffic - South Chennai. She left the audience spellbound with her very inspiring words. This was followed by a dance performance by Ms. Divya, and a showcase of graphic designs and a stop-motion video created by the students and staff of IMAGE Creative Education and ICAT College of Design and Media. Then was a customary fashion show, in which around 35 students from IMAGE Creative Education and ICAT walked the ramp with costumes based on the theme ‘Bollywood Colours’. In the fashion show, Ms. Farha, a student of IMAGE Creative Education walked away with the Ms. Kalpavriksha tiara; Ms. Niveditha and Ms. Zaya (students of ICAT and Image respectively) came in 2nd and 3rd respectively. The event came to an end with a Krav Maga (form of self defence) workshop that gave a fair idea to the gathered ladies on how to self protect with no weapons/tools. Overall, it was a great evening filled with fun, frolic and festivity !
