International Animation Day Celebration 2012 @ ICAT, Chennai

International Animation Day (IAD) is an annual global celebration since 2002 by all ASIFA Chapters to recognize the art of animation. The basic aim of Asifa is community building for all animation enthusiasts. Its a free and open to all, platform for interaction and networking which has seen the active participation and support of the industry.

For this year 2012, the event was planned on similar lines as that of every year. IAD was celebrated in Chennai on the 25th Nov 2012 at the Chinmaya Heritage Auditorium as a day long event organized by ICAT Design & Media College, Image, MAAC & Arena.

A mixed crowd of students from top media colleges and professionals from various studios across the city were found to be enjoying the activities during the celebration.

The function proceeded with welcome address by Mr.Ramakrishna of AnimationXpress.

It started with sessions by our National Speakers - Mr. Srinivas Mohan - "Indian Artists"; Mr. Alagar Swamy -"Vensat"; Mr. Sathya Narayanan "Image Venture Studios"; Mr. Gomathi Ramalingam - "Sony Imageworks"; Mr. Senthil "Rhythm & Hues Studios"; & was followed by series of cultural events held at the venue.

Prizes were distributed to all the winners of the Digital Art competition which was organized byWacom (A leader in interactive pen displays & digital drawing tablets).
