Inter-Collegiate Cultural Fest – Miraki’18 from ICAT, Chennai
ICAT Design & Media College conducted Miraki’18, the inter-collegiate cultural fest at ASI Convention Centre, Chepauk, Chennai, on 23rd of February, 2018. The one full-day event was rightly named as ‘Miraki’ (Meraki (Greek word) - the soul, creativity or love put into something) to convey the essence of creativity poured in from the participants’ inner self.
Inauguration
The cultural event was inaugurated by lighting up the lamp (kuthu vilakku) by Mr. Ram, Film Director; Mr. Kumar, Founder & Managing Director of IMAGE Groups; Mr. Madhan, Operations Director of IMAGE Groups; Mr. Anand, Technical Director of IMAGE Groups; and other Board of Directors. Mrs. Lakshmi Kumar, Dean of ICAT Design and Media College played a key role with her invaluable support.
The Flooded Hall & Creative Minutes
Distinguished Guests, elite Guardians, Judges, and Students of ICAT Design & Media College and other participator colleges were part of the grand event. There were over 1500 students from around 40 different colleges from all over Tamil Nadu.
The students enjoyed the day-long cultural programme that included both on-stage and off-stage events. The on-stage events included Host Performance Band, Acapella, Light Music, Western Music, Host Performance Dance, Folk Dance, Western Dance, Fusion Dance and Fashion Show; and the off-stage events included Shoe Painting, Skull Painting, Solve a Mystery, Photography (Briefing), War of RJs, Mute and Adaptune. There were also online registered events including Animation Short Film, Short Film, Meme Creation, Dubsmash and Poster Designing.
The Distinguished Judges
The judges for the 21 events included Mr. Karthik Raja - Light Music; Mr. Orlando Ambrose - Western Music; Mrs. Gayathri Shankar, Ms. Akashya, Mrs. Preethi – Dance; Mrs Shilpa Menon - War of RJ; Mr. Shyam Sundar – Adaptune; Mr. Muralidharan Alagr - Shoe Painting; Mr. Ganesh – Photography; Mr. Vivek, Mrs. Shakti Girish – Fashion; Mr. Viswam - Skull Painting. The judges enjoyed the events and encouraged the participants with their valuable comments.
Prize Distribution
The Chief Guest Mr. Mohan Raja (Film Director) along with the Guest of Honor Mrs. Keerthika Udhayanidhi (Film Director) distributed the prize for the winners and the participants who performed exponentially well in Miraki Fest 2018. The overall trophy was won by Stella Maris College, Chennai.
The cultural programme was a grand success and everyone enjoyed it. It exposed many creative talents amidst renowned personalities. The success of the event was published by News 7 - News Channel Partner, shiksha.com - Online Media Partner, NPIX - Media Partner and Zebronics - Digital Partner.
