Industry Visit to Vihan Print Studio and Avik Creation 2020 from ICAT, Bangalore

Department of Fashion Design, ICAT Design And Media College - Bangalore, organized an Industry Visit on 19th December 2020 to Vihan Print Studio ( Printing unit ) and Avik Creation ( Manufacturing unit ) located at Bommanahalli and GB Palya. All students of final year and 4 faculties from the department visited the industry observing Covid prevention norms and students off-campus were given an opportunity to virtually visit via google meet. The visit was very informative and valuable as it gave exposure to the students to understand the types and process involved in screen printing and also the manufacturing process of the Shirt.

At the Printing unit, students got to know different types of printing, chemicals used for printing and also process from screen development to finishing. Students were given a chance to do screen printing, which gave them a better experience of the process.

TAt the Shirt Manufacturing unit, students were able to go through the process including marker making, cutting, bundling, fusing and production of shirts and a sequence of attaching individual components to the final garment was demonstrated.

The visit commenced at 12 noon and concluded around 5 p.m.
