Halloween Celebration 2021 @ ICAT, Bangalore

Halloween is a spooky day celebrated each year on October 31.The tradition originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, where people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a time to honor all saints. Soon, All Saints Day incorporated some of the traditions of Samhain. The evening before was known as All Hallows Eve, and later Halloween. Over time, Halloween evolved into a day of activities like trick-or-treating, carving jack-o-lanterns, and festive gatherings, donning costumes and eating treats.

ICAT Design and Media College, Bangalore celebrated Halloween on 28th of October this year as 31st Oct 2021 prior to the original date as 31st would be a Sunday. The idea for the celebration was to engage every student, so different rooms and stalls were allotted. The celebration began at 10AM, for the first half of the day all the creepy VR games were designed for and by the students in the game room. In another room, Ouija Board games were kept for students. In the basement area, the games such as Battleship, Risk, D&D are conducted and along with it many Make-up stalls, Face painting, Costume Modification stalls were set up for the students to get their Halloween look done. For the second half, Ramp Walk Competition was open for the students to take part and then, the celebration ended with the movie show that was from 3 to 5PM. The celebration was enjoyed by all as students' took interest to participate and showcase their skills and talent.
