Guest Lecture on 'Cartoon Creation' 2018 @ ICAT, Chennai

On 28th of September 2018, the Department of Multimedia arranged a session on "Cartoon Creation". The session was arranged as an extension of sketch club students activity and class activity for Media Technology students. Mr. Vasanthan, Subject Leader-Art & Design (R&D, IMAGE Group) presented the session. The main aim of this session arranged for the students is to provide knowledge about the cartoon drawing techniques and also gaining confidence to overcome the " I can't draw" hurdle and have fun with their cartooning, no matter what their ability in sketching.

The Guest Lecturer taught our students about simple cartooning techniques by drawing characters with a range of moods and expressions. He has explained how to create their own characters, by starting off with simple shapes and building the cartoon step by step. The steps involved covering up shapes, character creation, expression, and actions.

Finally, the whole session was making the students understand simple methods of cartoon creations, its varieties, individual body parts and how to make a complete cartoon character.
