Green Carnival - 2015 from ICAT, Chennai
ICAT Design & Media College, in collaboration with Tamil Nadu Forest department - Headquarters (Wildlife), organized “Green Carnival” to celebrate the World Environment Day on 5th of June, 2015. The event, which is hosted by ICAT for the second time was inaugurated by Mr. David Raj S (Forest Range Officer) from Tamil Nadu Forest department.
Green Carnival was organized at Marina Beach (Opp. Vivekananda House), Chennai, where the students and staffs of ICAT, Chennai hosted a variety of carnival games for the public. The games were developed by students with an aim to create awareness on environmental conservation. All the games were based on the theme, ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’ and were designed with the purpose of educating people on rain water conservation, reducing pollution, methods of growing plants, use of eco-friendly equipments and how to tackle environmental issues for a better future.
With its ‘edutainment’ factor, the Green Carnival was well received with a series of positive reviews from the public. The public enjoyed all the games and best learnt the intended ideas. Many of the public audience expressed their encouragement to plant more trees, control pollution and acknowledge their duties of protecting the earth and environment.
ICAT is happy to be organizing such events that instil the social responsibility in our young creators. Congrats to the students and staff, who made the event so grand and successful.
