Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration 2021 @ ICAT, Bangalore
In India, Festivals build community connectedness and belongingness. Every festival has a story to tell, inform, educate and bring people together, breaking the monotony and bringing joy and happiness and re-energize our body, mind, and spirit. Amongst all the festivals, Ganesh Chaturthi which is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi is the most colorful. It is celebrated all over India and abroad, but in the states of Maharashtra and Karnataka it is vibrant and as a main festival. The festival celebrations start with the arrival of Hindu God Ganapathi to earth from Kailash Mountain with his mother Goddess Parvati. It is believed that Lord Ganesha, the symbol of wisdom bestows his presence on Earth during this festival and removes their obstacles. The festival is marked with the installation of Ganesh idols privately in homes, or publicly on elaborate Pandals i.e. temporary stages.
