First Showcase of BVA Foundation Students 2018 @ ICAT, Bangalore
The first showcase of the works of students of first year BVA Foundation Studies was held on 4th of September, 2018. The students presented their best works created as part of their 2D and 3D Design Fundamentals modules. The selected works on display had completely covered the soft boards on two walls extending to more than 20 easels. It surely displayed the student’s talents and endeavour. There was an overwhelming response from the entire college, including students, training staff and marketing staff. All the visitors appreciated the students’ efforts and gave very encouraging feedback.
The patience involved in tessellation artwork left the spectators amazed. Variations in self-portrait art from pointillism / stripling to shapes and colours to experiments with textures like colour paper pasting, threads, beads, feathers, saw dust and cotton were the most discussed works among the visitors who seemed mesmerized with students’ application of creativity and understanding of materials. The display was full of surprises to visitors starting from the typography works in regional languages to colour wheel, which broke the monotony of visualising the colour wheel in a regular wheel structure to creative design form. The cubes stacked together to form a beautiful installation took the centre of the classroom and gave the room a look nothing less than an art gallery.
Creativity was everywhere dipped in colours and painted on everyone’s face with smiles, be it students who organised or the visitors who appreciated. Though it’s the start of first year foundation, the students had been highly creative with astounding visual thinking skills. All the best to the students for their future endeavours.
