Fashion Workshop from House of Bazaar 2018 @ ICAT, Chennai
On Friday, the 23rd of March, 2018, a Fashion workshop was organized at the Palladium, Chennai by House of Bazaar. The Fashion students of ICAT got the opportunity to attend the workshop.
First, a session on Make-up was conducted by Make-Up Designory (MUD), an institute at Los Angeles for Make-Up Artists. During the session, the students were introduced to different varieties of makeup products and the order in which a makeup should be done. MUD showcased their course, which is to be started at Mumbai. MUD also taught the basic work to be done for a day look and night glam look. There were models ranging from light to dusky for the students to understand the different skin types and other important things needed for makeup. Our Fashion Design students found it really useful, as now they gained an insight on what look to go for a garment and skin type. Later on, an interactive session was held for the students to clarify their doubts. At the end of the program, the Fashion Director of Harper’s Bazaar, Edward Lalrempuia spoke about the tips on fashion styling and outfit selection. He explained what kind of garments could be worn to work, how to look chic, etc.
The students then viewed the exhibit of the House of Bazaar, where they saw the photo-shoot of the magazine and also viewed the garments on display, which included the latest collections of Kate Spade, Coach x Selena Gomez, Satya Paul’s Sarees and Suits made by Armani. The students then got to personally speak to Mr. Edward Lalrempuia at backstage about fashion and tips for styling. The day ended with some snacks and cocktails organized by the host.
It was an amazing experience for the Fashion students, and it was a privilege to attend Harper’s Bazaar’s workshop. This has made the students more confident in styling their future projects.
