Faculty Development Program 2020 @ ICAT, Bangalore
A Faculty Development Program was organized in ICAT design and Media College, Bangalore on Saturday, 1st Feb 2020. The main focus of the program was Teaching Etiquettes and Methodologies to enhance teaching and learning at educational institutes and Professional Ethics and Effective Communication in the workplace. The development of the society and the nation depends on the educational system and the holistic development of the students depends upon the teachers. Therefore, the constant up gradation of the teaching methodologies and development of the faculty of the institution is much needed. It is needless to say that, the FDP on the 1st Feb 2020 was one such occasion where all the faculties were exposed to some very unique perspectives on the subject.
Three unique and interactive sessions were conducted by our honorable guest speakers. The first session was by Dr Vidya Niranjan, Professor and HOD of Biotechnology, RV College of Engineering. Dr Vidya Niranjan has a long and intense career experience spread in national and international span. She shared her valuable experience and shed light on modern day teaching methodologies which will help the faculties to create a better classroom atmosphere and connect to the students in effective manner.
The second session was conducted by Col Ishwar G Daddamani on the topic of Professional ethics. During his stint in the Army for 21 years, his distinguished service was rewarded with very key appointments as staff officer in Military Operations, Directorate and Head administration in the North East. His outstanding performances in the Army training establishments were also rewarded with assignments as Faculty in Army College. The faculty of the institution got the lessons of Professional Ethics from him and it is needless to say that it couldn’t be delivered better then by the person who served for the nation which is the biggest organization of all. It was highly inspiring and motivating for the dignitaries present there in the program.
The third session was on effective communication in the workplace by Ms Navinder, Award Coordinator Animation Department. Ms Navinder is also a Psychotherapist with a long and distinguished experience in the subject. Her session was mostly on the area of understanding the right ego state in which the faculties can deal the various classroom situations and also maintain their emotional states in workspace. This session turned out to be an effective interactive session where the participants got the scope to open up and discuss about various experiences.
Overall the program was a great success and productive to each and everyone who were present for the program.
