Deepavali Celebration 2021 @ ICAT, Bangalore
ICAT Design and Media College, Bangalore celebrated Deepavali on 3rd November 2021 in the college premises. Deepavali is India's most eagerly awaited and celebrated festival and most significant occasion of the year. The festival gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to represent the internal light that shields from profound obscurity. The festival was celebrated in the college to illuminate the minds of the students.
The celebration began at 10 AM with the Rangoli Competition. The students showcased the spirit of Deepavali through handmade eco-friendly lamps, lanterns to decorate the college. They put in efforts to plan and execute it. In the second half at 3PM, the college was decorated with vibrant hues and the pooja started with prayers, chants, and ended with Goddess Laxmi’s Aarti. Then, prasadam was distributed among students, teachers and all other non-teaching staff. The celebration was complete when the House keeping staff who have helped us keep the campus clean and tidy were given sweets as a token of appreciation for the job well done.
Deepavali is incomplete without Fireworks, all students and staff burst crackers. After a year and half of restrictions due to Covid, the festival of lights came and we celebrated with great sense of devotion and camaraderie.
