Board Games Showcase 2017 from ICAT, Bangalore
Play is a key to sound mental health. It empowers children to use their innovativeness while building up their creativity and passion.
In accordance with leading energizing activities, ICAT conducted a Game Showcase on 22 November, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. Students of L4 UG Interactive Media (Game Design Development and Game Programming) of ICAT, Bangalore displayed their 8 life-size and 41 Board Games to the students of class 5 to 8 at Samved School, Bangalore, as part of their "Professional Context Technology & Communication Methods" module.
Our students got appreciative response from the school students, which was very motivating for our students and would enable them to enhance their games. School students took part in the games with oomph and were longing to play more. The winners of the games were rewarded as a token of appreciation which in turn made them happy. The games 'Play Pebbles', 'Hacker Space' and 'Bey Box' stood out as the favourite for many students on account of the engrossing gameplay, challenging rules, fun-factor and time duration.
The school management was overwhelmed with our students' work and showed their enthusiasm to exhibit the games again in their school premises. Our students got the experience of encountering the target audience and straightforwardly assessing their games, and analysing and comprehending how to draw their target audience.
