Beach Clean Up Drive 2015
As it is said, “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”. With an aim to clean our beautiful motherland and present her in all her splendor, ICAT organized a Beach Clean Up drive. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan aims at cleaning up India, to improve the quality of life of over billion people in India. We believe that it is imperative to instill a sense of responsibility in the minds of our students on the importance of cleanliness, as they are the future of the country. As a part of our contribution to the Government’s initiative to clean India, we organized a beach cleanup drive at Edward Elliot’s Beach in Besant Nagar on 30 September (Wednesday), 2015, between 9 am and 10 am.
About 60 students of the ICAT Social Club gathered on the beach, fully geared to clean and truly bring out the hidden beauty of the Edward Elliot’s beach. Mr. David Raj – Forest Range Officer, inaugurated the cleanup drive and in his address to the students said that, the institution was working towards a very noble task of cleaning and disposing litter and no matter how small it may appear, was in reality a very important step towards creating a ‘swachh’ India.
