NSS Activity on Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti Clean India and Green India 2021 from ICAT, Bangalore
Cleanliness is one of the fundamental needs of a civilized society. Clean India and Green India are the two sides of the same coin, i.e., sustainable development in India. Clean India or Swacch Bharat Abhiyan is a national level campaign with an aim of cleansing India of unwanted filth from the society.
Mahatma Gandhi, the father of our nation gave the mantra “Cleanliness is Godliness” as he had a dream to make a clean country. We believe that it is imperative to instil a sense of responsibility in the minds of our students on the importance of cleanliness, as they are the future of the country. As a part of our contribution to the Government’s initiative to clean India, ICAT Design and Media College, Bangalore, participated in the drive at Parachute Regiment Centre in RT Nagar, Bangalore on 2nd October, 2021, between 10 Am to 12 Pm. About 20 students of the ICAT’s NSS club gathered at the event, fully geared up to demonstrate the community led practices in waste recycle management, production of usable products by recycling and innovative use of scrap material and to campaign its necessity, a small step was in reality a very important step towards creating a ‘Swachh’ India. The students also demonstrated production of reusable masks to be used in the current scenario. The students and families were very enthusiastic and we're very receptive and participated very well. This was done in partnership with a volunteers organisation named Armour of Care.
